TWENTY10

It's 2010, people! What a great time to be alive.

20 years ago I was bangin' on lunch room lunch tables, dubbing cassettes of 3rd Bass and PE and pushing up on the flyest girls. Now I'm bangin' on my head at my desk at work, lurkin for free downloads of anything raw online and taking my kids to see Chipmunks the Squeekwal. Times have changed all around and I'm rollin' with the minutes here.

2009 was a nice break for me from recording music. I did collabs here and there, but not much for the Sev Statik assembly line. I brainstormed on a few things, but only followed up on a few ideas to execute for 2010. Dust and I shot a video for the song 'Back to Dust' in Queens in the summer of 2009 and had an awesome time. We had rooftop shots, old school bike riding and of course we shot up in the most coveted spot to shoot a video at... Fat Beats. Biggups to J57!

Sev Statik/DeeJay Tone
First things first! DeeJay Tone and I have a free 6 song EP to be released early 2010. We're looking to shoot a video or 2, but we'll see how that unfolds. Tone has a clean early hip hop feel with his production so we got some Marty McFly for your domepiece. Guests for this project include Ruslan, Poems, Wonder Brown, Mark Arthur, Nomis and Sojurn. Cuts and scratches by DJ Ex-O.

Sev Statik/J57
My man my mellow producer J57 from Brown Bag All Stars produced a few joints on my last album "Shotgun". We both expressed interest in working on more music together so after sending a few emails with some beats we selected the some flavors to move forward on a small project. Dude is incredibly talented and a dope person. J has beats that make it real easy for an emcee. I've already started writing and now I look forward to getting in the booth. This project should be available before summer.

DEEPSPACE5
Our 3rd full length album is done. The Future Aint What It Used To Be will be releasing this summer on Mega Royal Records. Our brother Rob Viktum is heading up this label so it's in good hands. No doubt! More news to come...
